While consulting at The ORCA Partnership one of the frequent tasks was the design and layout of presentations and presentation materials. This is one example of that type of work.
For this presentation marketing and presentation graphics were created and printed sales presentations, presentation boards as well as mock ups were all created to help support the sales promotion that was presented by T.J. Birkenmeier the managing principle at The ORCA Partnership.
It has been my pleasure over the past few months to work again with someone who is doing something very interesting and doing it to help people out. I have known John Ware for a number of years now having worked with Enterprise Bank & Trust where he used to be employed and I now have the honor of working with him on aWAREness Insights his professional counseling service.
John has transitioned into the world of Counseling and is currently working through Family Wellness Counseling, LC. where he specializes in Individual, Couple and Family Issues, Job Loss and Career Transitions as well as Bullying In The Workplace.
As I have said, it has been a pleasure working with John developing his promotional website using a Content Management System(CMS) as well as integrating Branded Social Media and detailed Analytics that allow him to track the success of the website in promoting his business.
The Corrigan Company Business Website is a project that I worked on through OCCAM Online Consulting while working with The ORCA Partnership who was my client at the time. The Corrigan Company is a prime example of success over time. The very culture and ethos of The Corrigan Co. is predicated upon time proven processes that gets the job done right.
We worked with Corrigan Co. on creating a solid business-to-business website that would allow potential customers to read about and understand this time honored tradition of success in action.
Our solution for The Corrigan Co. involved a business to business information portal as well as a content management system allowing them the freedom to change or expand the content of the website at will. They now use the site directly in the sales process allowing customers to read more giving them an in-depth view into what Corrigan Co. does.
The 2011 ORCA Partnership Christmas Card Design was a truly fun project that I worked on as a consultant of my business OCCAM Online Consulting. I designed the card to be sent with holiday music CD and packaged in a frosted envelope showing the front of the CD on one side and the front of the card on the other. Postage was placed on the same side as the CD allowing the artwork of the card to be seen more easily.
In addition to designing the project I was also responsible for the printing and acquisition of all materials used in the mailing. The card was printed in-office at The ORCA Partnership on their XEROX Color Printer and cut and folded by hand. I was quite proud of the final piece and glad that I had the opportunity to work on it.
One of my first projects under the brand OCCAM Online Consulting was with Madison County Wood Products. I worked closely with Jim Morton, a previous associate from Staples Promotional Products and Corporate Express who now runs sales and marketing at MCWP.
This website is a straightforward brochure-ware website that allows customers and vendors a quick look at available products and services provided by Madison County Wood Products and allows MCWP the ability to change and update copy, images and video that are displayed on their site.
Madison County is a fully integrated operation from timber purchasing, logging and saw-milling through pallet assembly and delivery. We’re the second generation of a family-owned business with over 40 years in the industry and one-hundred-plus years of management experience.

While at Corporate Express & Staples Promotional Products I worked as senior web designer and UI designer responsible for the design and UI development of over 120 online eCommerce stores. Many of the customers I interacted with were Fortune 500 companies. My normal customer contact point was usually the marketing department or creative departments.
The UI design processes involved the use of HTML and CSS to create user interfaces that helped showcase products as well as focused the customer on the goal of purchasing branded products.
This is one example of the type of eCommerce website that I worked on while at Corporate Express () and Staples Promotional Products (). I worked on a team of 4 people in the IT department of both companies. This team included our project manager, two developers and myself the UI/UX designer.
These eCommerce websites were built in aps and C#.net and integrated with a back end database system that also integrated into the order fulfillment system. My responsibility was to maintain the design, look and feel of the site in addition to prepping the product photography for use on the site. When developing a new client site I often interacted with the marketing and creative departments of the company we were working with. Many of the companies I worked with were Fortune 500 companies.
I truly enjoyed my time and the people at both Corporate Express and Staples. It was one of the most enriching experiences in my career.
